I was almost 21
Swiping left and right, staying up all night
I was on the hunt
For some top shelf booze, sometimes I would cruise
For a little fun
A body that could warm my bed a night or two
And then I met someone
Tallest boy I knew in the 512
He had ocean arms
He would wrap me up with a seafoam touch
And it felt like home
I did what any rational person would do

Yeah I got a white ink tattoo of his name
So I could feel him on my body any time of the day
Like I was 16 all over again
Starving for a touch, that adrenal rush
How could I push through the pain
Knowing by the time it healed I wouldn’t see him again
And now that white ink is all that remains
Evidence of us, am I just too much?

On to the next
Saw him out one night drinking Bud Lite Lime
Smoking cigarettes
Had an iron man down on his right leg
Came from Ireland
He left me in the morning before I could wake
And so that day at noon
Made some dinner plans with a nice postman
Really felt a fool
When he stood me up was it fate or luck
That my shirt was blue
They say you learn from everyone who touches you

So I got a white ink tattoo of his name
Like a permanent reminder of a little mistake
Yeah I was 16 all over again
Taking every punch, that adrenal rush
How could I push through the pain
Keeping score of every lover that I ever replaced
And now that white ink has only defaced
A body that was, yeah I’m just too much
